I always have such a blast working with chef and recipe developer, Julie Hartigan, and our second Asbury Park, NJ brand session was no different. Julie and I met in a business mastermind, and immediately connected over our love of life, people, and food. Julie and I were both described by other mastermind attendees and the host as “golden retrievers” bringing great energy to the environment, and I LOVE that. I’ll be a golden retriever any day ;). 

You might remember from a previous post, that I did a summer session with Julie last year in her apartment in Asbury Park, NJ, and since she constantly needs content for social media and her courses, we needed to get some updated fall and winter shots for her to use! Um, sign me up!

We did this brand session in Asbury Park, NJ as well – and it was actually the last week she had that apartment! They just sold it and her and her boyfriend are now living in Jersey City full-time.

For this session, we had two goals: get photos of fall season food, and winter food. That meant the outfits needed to match the season, as well as the food.  Our second goal was to get more lifestyle photos of Julie practicing some of her self-care modalities – from journaling, to healthy sleep, to meditation.

Honestly, some of these fall photos are my absolute FAVORITE from the session – I love the lighting, the colors of the food, the outfit – everything. Call me basic, but I just love everything about fall.

One other super fun side note? Julie launched her first course this past September – a healthy cooking course for women cooking for 1 or 2. I’m a horrible cook, so I joined the program, and Scott and I started it in the RV, and we are LOVING IT. We’ve made 2 meals so far – Steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus for the first which turned out delicious, and then Steak and Quinoa burrito bowls for the second. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and certainly the best meal I have ever made.

Julie – you are a culinary genius – seriously, you have such a gift and I hope you know just how special it is. I’m so glad I’ve gotten to experience your teaching, your friendship, and your love of food, restaurants, and gathering people together first hand. I can’t wait to someday experience your actual cooking too, and am SO here for all the dreams you have up your sleeve for the future. Don’t ever shy away from your gifts – they are so needed and so appreciated. I can’t wait to work together again!!!
