Less Stress, More Success. That’s one of the mottos’ that Dr. Elizabeth Cronin lives by in her life and work as a clinical psychologist.
And as someone who honestly hasn’t spent much time surrounded by the therapy world; I have to say, being around Elizabeth makes it seem like a treat and that it’s honestly something everyone would benefit from.
I got to photograph Elizabeth during a mastermind retreat we were attending together in Venice Beach, CA. On a whim before the retreat, I asked if any of the women would like to do a mini session while we were out there, and so many of them said YES!
For Elizabeth’s session, we wanted to focus on capturing some refreshed headshots of her. The last one she had was YEARS ago and she said she didn’t even look like that anymore! She is coming out with a book in 2022, so not only did we want a headshot she could use on her website but also, for her back book cover!!
We captured photos of her calming presence in the Airbnb we were staying at in Venice Beach, CA, as well as in the beautiful succulent garden in the Airbnb’s side yard. Meditation, prayer, calmness, and peace are words that filled my mind photographing Elizabeth.
And with any brand session, I think my favorite part is always getting to hear the story of my subject. From Elizabeth’s website of why she does this work as a clinical psychologist, I wanted to share:
In Elizabeth’s words:
“I know what it is like to live with stress and anxiety. And I know what it’s like to conquer adversity, to recover from difficult times and to, not just heal, but grow. Over the years, I experienced how engaging in therapy, participating in groups, and developing new ways of coping can bring about dramatic changes. None of us needs to live with a level of distress that leaves us feeling bewildered, overwhelmed, or confused about what to do. My personal experience with the benefits of psychotherapy and my years of experience providing therapy to others has taught me that making changes in our thoughts and behaviors can decrease difficulties and increase a sense of well-being.
I am passionate about helping others overcome difficulties, small or large, while increasing their personal well-being. I blend my formal education in psychology with my ongoing education in Mindfulness and Meditation.”
During our time together at the retreat, I got to experience Elizabeth’s gifts; her calming presence, her nurturing personality, her mindfulness and meditation practices that she led us through during the retreat, as well as her sometimes boisterous and hysterical, and playful personality.
Elizabeth has a way of making anyone feel seen, heard, and loved. My goodness, what a gift that is.

I can’t say enough about what it’s like to work with you. I haven’t done a lot of “photo shoots” so I came to the session feeling unsure about what to expect. I didn’t even know what type of photos I needed. You held my hand every step of the way sharing your wisdom so generously. In addition, you made sure that I was feeling comfortable and supported.
When you sent me the pictures, I was blown away by how much you captured the feel that I was hoping for. You are so talented and so easy to work with! I can’t recommend you highly enough to others and I know that you will continue to take great shots for many other professionals and their brands.
