Alright – ya’ll ain’t even ready for the cutest dang session ever. I have to say I am QUICKLY becoming obsessed with taking product photos when I get to do it alongside the lifestyle photos of a brand, and doing a brand session for Manor Paper Co. in Asbury Park was a TREEEEAT this summer. Being a brand photographer truly feels like my life’s calling (at the moment anyway!) and I am obsessssed with all of these truly soul aligned clients I get to work with. Leah was no different.
For Leah’s session, we wanted to focus on two things: her products, and her working and making them happen! Her business journey and story of how it began is inspiring and incredible (like all entrepreneurs I get to work with!) and I’m freakin’ obsesssssed watching her have so much success in this incredibly fun and joy-inducing business of hers!
Here’s the scoop on Leah and this magic business of hers!!
Leah works 9-5 at a digital design agency and after a few years of doing this, she was feeling drained by only getting to create things for OTHER people, and not for herself. She decided to start making fun little projects to do for herself after work to stay inspired. After some time, she decided to take the leap and try and see if her designs would sell. SPOILER ALERT: THEY DID! She was able to, for the first time in years, make things that made HER happy – and news flash – they made others happy too. She started in 2018 as LeahPStudio but in 2020, rebranded as Manor Paper Co and officially took off on the wild ride she’s now on!
Manor Paper Co. offers greeting cards, stickers, prints, home decor and apparel. Leah has dreams of opening up more custom work someday soon too!
And with every business owner I work with – I always want to know what their mission is – the hear behind their business. For Leah, it’s this:
“Our mission is to bring joy to everyone who comes in contact with our products. Whether its our sarcastic cards, cute stickers, or beautiful decor pieces, our products will make you excited to check your mailbox. As a woman-owned business, our goal is to partner with business and vendors who have the same goals and morals as us. We are proud to provide beautiful designs that are 100% made in the USA. My main goal with my brand is to bring a smile to people through our products. When people look at our cards or stickers and laugh and say “Oh my god, So and So will love this I need to get it”. That literally is my goal and all I want.”
Um – Leah – it’s safe to say every time I’ve come across one of your posts on my Instagram feed, it has brought tremendous joy.
Another thing I love asking my brand clients is what part of their busienss they love the most. For Leah, it’s this:
“I love the designing part the most. Some nights I will just wake up in the middle of a night with an idea and I’ll half asleep scribble it down to not forget and then the next day. I just get so excited to make it. When I can make something that looks exactly how I imagined it in my head AND people love it just as much as I do, that makes everything worth it.”
For her session, we did TONS of flat lays of her products, as well as TONS of headshots and lifestyle shots of her around the house working. We had an absolute blast and I can’t believe I get to call this “work”.
Leah, thank you for having me capture your brand session for you – your products are freakin’ hilarious and make me smile every time I see one. I cannot wait to work together again someday! I am cheering you on so hard as you chase some amazing goals this year and beyond! Keep makin’ everyone smile!
