I’m so excited today to share with you some tips from Michelle Elise Hair and Make-Up Artistry! Michelle is just the sweetest person you’ll ever meet and I’ve never seen anyone do “Natural make-up” better than her! I absolutely adore her and her work and today she’s sharing some tips for designing your perfect wedding day hair and make-up!

“It can be overwhelming and confusing when designing the perfect hair and makeup look for your wedding.  Have no fear though, as long as you follow some simple guidelines you are guaranteed to look your best on your wedding day!

Think In the Long-term

You want to look back at your photos in 10, 20, 30 years and feel like you looked classic and fresh. Just because every celebrity is wearing fuchsia lipstick or smokey eyes doesn’t mean you need to commit to that look for your wedding. Celebrity inspiration is great to guide your wedding-day glam, but don’t take it too literally. Red carpet trends come and go but your wedding photos are forever!

Do a trial

There should be no surprises the day of your wedding. The best way to avoid a hair or makeup disaster is to meet with a professional for a trial. Your time together can be spent testing out different looks and perfecting the style that you love the most.  Bring a few inspiration photos to give your hair or makeup artist a generalized idea of what you are envisioning.

Wearing your hair down for the wedding? Consider adding in some extensions for fullness and length. Want big eyes? Try out different styles of lashes for a bright and full look. A good stylist will recommend additional upgrades to bring your look to the next-level for the wedding day. Try it out because it may ultimately make a huge difference for your look!

..But Stay true to yourself

Are you a girl who only carries chapstick in her purse? Do you wear false lashes just to go to the supermarket? Staying true to your personal style is the key in looking and feeling comfortable in your wedding day hair and makeup.  If you always wear your hair down, don’t feel pressured to put it in a tight updo because your grandmother wants to see it up. If you throw your hair in a ponytail every day, just ask your stylist to recreate a chic version for the wedding!

On your wedding-day you want to look like the best version of yourself. With proper planning and a good stylist you can feel your most beautiful for the biggest milestone ☺
